Meet Diana Sharon! Diana fosters shelter pets who need a temporary home to relax and let their true personalities shine.
Q. What made you want to foster at the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County?
A. I’ve had all sorts of animals from goats to turkeys in the past. After the passing of our cat, we decided to foster as we had no animals at home, but lots of love to give.
I went to the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County as soon as I could to meet with the foster coordinator to see what dogs were available to foster. I was introduced to which dog had the greatest need, and that was Annie, the sweet pitty we are currently fostering.
Q. What’s your favorite part of fostering here?
A. Our favorite part is getting to give an animal a great temporary home out of the shelter. Not all animals thrive at the shelter, such as Annie, who needs an environment with less noise and activity.
Q. If you could give one piece of advice about fostering at the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County, what would it be?
A. The advice I’d give is that you should totally do it if you are considering adopting an animal and have not had one before. That way you will know what to expect from having a pet. If you love animals and have some time and space to give a loving home to one then definitely foster! There are many animals who need a temporary home, even if it’s just for a week or two.
It’s been great seeing Annie blossom in our care and getting to know her so we can help her find a forever home.
