You Made it Possible: 3 Parvo Puppies

Back in November, seven puppies were found huddled together next to traffic in South Tacoma. Thankfully, they were saved by a kind human, who brought them to the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County for care.

The sweet puppies were very sick and unfortunately tested positive for parvovirus. Parvo can be deadly to young dogs and sadly, we lost four of the puppies within three days.

It was devastating for our staff, but we were determined to save the lives of the remaining three puppies. Your incredible support and the outpouring of encouragement from our whole community motivated us to do all we could for these dogs.

Treatment was not easy for the three surviving puppies, but because you cared, they received a second chance at life.

After several weeks of rigorous, round-the-clock care, the puppies fully recovered from parvovirus. Spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, and flea treatment were the last steps to get them ready for adoption, and finally, it was the big day.

Iris, Alfalfa, and Dora Dora all found loving forever homes! Their wonderful families are dedicated to keeping them happy and healthy for the rest of their lives.
